This year marks the 40th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week. It kicks off on Monday 3 June and runs until Sunday 9 June.
Volunteers’ Week is a time for charities, voluntary groups, social organisations, and volunteers themselves to come together. And it’s a time to recognise the incredible impact that volunteering has on communities around the UK.
Celebrate with us!
We'll be doing lots to showcase the incredible impact our volunteers have on the MS community, and we'd love for you to be involved.
Celebrating on social media
We’ll be getting loud about our volunteers through our social media channels. Look out for video clips throughout the week from some of our celebrity Ambassadors, CEO, Chair of Trustees and staff, sharing why they think our volunteers are worth celebrating.
We’ll also use the week to share a TikTok video created by one of our brilliant volunteers, Group Coordinator Jo Mason, sharing her volunteering experience and the services the Sheffield and Rotherham Group offers. We hope it will help us reach a younger audience and encourage new recruits!
We’d love your support to spread these messages, so please follow us on social media and repost/share on your personal and local group accounts.
How you can celebrate locally
If you’re part of a local group, you’ll already know how brilliant your volunteering team are. So, we’ve pulled together the following resources to help you recognise one another and create lots of Volunteers’ Week content using our new brand! Click on the links to download what you need.

Visit the Volunteers’ Week website for more information and ideas on how you can get involved.
Don’t forget to share your pictures of any celebratory events or social media posts with us by tagging the MS Society and using the hashtags #VolunteersWeek and #MSVolunteers.
Thanks from the MS Society
Our CEO, Nick Moberly, will be in touch at the beginning of Volunteers’ Week to say a big thank you to everyone for the impact you make. And the time you give freely to support people with MS. Keep a look out for the email!
Staff event
During the week we’ll also be inviting staff to come along to an internal session to hear from two of our groups about the services they offer. And how they’re pivotal in helping our organisation reach its goal of ‘people living well with MS’.
We wish you all a Happy Volunteers’ Week!
