Teamspirit: great changes are coming!

The Internal Communications Team have reviewed Teamspirit, so keep an eye out for the new-look publication which will reach recipients in early November.

The review

Between February and May 2013, the Internal Communications Team reviewed Teamspirit, the bi-monthly newsletter that goes to all branch and national support group committee members.

This involved consulting a wide range of branch volunteers, conducting feedback workshops in each nation, consulting Council members and Trustees, consulting area staff and gaining feedback from the Teamspirit contributor’s team.

During this process we held 7 volunteer workshops with over 125 combined attendees.

The results from the 2012 volunteer survey also informed our review into improving Teamspirit.

Changes

As a result of the consultation you will be seeing the following changes in the next edition of Teamspirit.

  • Language - In the new-look Teamspirit we will make sure the language used in all articles is friendlier and informative but also brief.

  • Design - The redesigned publication will include breakout boxes (see below for more on this), be full colour, and have a “hero” image on the cover.

  • Breakout boxes - We will be introducing “breakout boxes” at the bottom of every story. This box will tell you who needs to read the article, what to “do” with the information, and who to contact if you want to know more.

  • Feature stories - We will be sharing more of your great stories and successes in Teamspirit. Each edition will start with a key success, as well as a “hero” image on the front page.

  • E-spirit - An interactive e-version of Teamspirit, which we will be calling “E-spirit” will replace the static PDF version and allow our readers to connect through electronic links. We will be introducing the new e-version in the new year.

  • Data – The consultation identified the need for a recipient audit to ensure those people who should be receiving Teamspirit, are. We will be tidying up this data in the new year.
