Share your experience of benefits or social care cuts

Our Press Office is working with two journalists at national newspapers who write about disability benefits and social care cuts. We’re trying to help them find people with MS affected by these cuts who would be willing to share their experience.

The Guardian is producing short films for its website about benefits cuts. They'd like to interview someone who has had their disability benefits reduced or stopped, and has been asked to return their Motability car – but hasn’t yet had to return it. They’re looking for people who'd be willing to be filmed as they lose the car and then perhaps as they go through the appeals process.

The Daily Mirror is running a year-long project called ‘The Road to Wigan Pier 2017’ which features the stories of anyone who’s had their disability benefits or social care packages cut. They're looking for people affected by these issues, who live in Birmingham, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, Penkridge, Stafford, Hanley, Burslem, Eldon, Rudyard Lake, Macclesfield, Manchester, Wigan, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Middlesmoor, Barnsley, Mapplewell, Leeds.

If you’d like to be involved with either of these requests, or would like more information, please contact Pui-Yi Cheng, Press & PR Officer, at [email protected]
