Working together to make a difference

Our volunteers are involved in all areas of our work and have loads of great ideas, from fundraising to recruiting new volunteers to reaching more people affected by MS. It would be great to be able to share more of those ideas, and perhaps even join forces for big events or activities.

Jag (pictured), a Communications Volunteer in Leeds, says:

“If we did things together we would raise more awareness and money. Yes we are individual groups, but ultimately we want the same thing. It would be great to share vital information with other relevant groups. For example we could share fundraising ideas, which web pages are getting most likes. We don’t communicate enough with each other. If we did, we would raise more awareness and money for MS. Yes, we are individual groups, but ultimately we want the same thing.”

So how can we get better at keeping in touch with each other?

Here are some ideas:

  • Find out what other groups are up to by ‘liking’ their Facebook pages or following them on twitter. Look at our new guide on using Social Media for ideas and advice.

  • Join one of our new online chats on a topic you’re interested in. The next one is ‘How to have fun while raising more locally’, being held on 23 and 24 August 2018. Sign up here!

  • Share your successes! If you’ve had a great event, a fabulous fundraiser or a successful new service then let us know so we can share your story and inspire others. Email [email protected]

  • If you’re a coordinating team member come along to a local autumn forum. Lots of dates will be coming on our events pages soon.
