Our priorities for the next UK government

With a general election happening on 12 December, we want to take this chance to raise our voices about changes on things that matter to people affected by MS.

Our priorities for the next UK government:

  • Make Personal Independence Payment (PIP) make sense
  • Make social care work for everyone affected by MS
  • Access to cannabis based medicines for people with MS

Together we can raise our voices and make a difference. We’d love your help to:

Get loud on PIP

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) still isn’t working for many people living with MS and we need an assessment process we can trust. We’ve written an open letter to the next UK Government, calling on them to make PIP assessments make sense.

Please spread the word and add your name so we can show how important this is to the MS community!

Ask your local candidates how they will support people with MS

Whether through social media, at a local hustings event, or if they visit you on your doorstep – it’s a great opportunity to ask questions and raise issues!

Stuck for ideas of what to ask? Here are some questions that you might want to ask your candidates:

  • How will you make Personal Independence Payment work for people with MS?
  • How will you help solve the care crisis in England and ensure people with MS get the care they need?
  • What will you do to make sure people with MS are able to access medicinal cannabis?

Have your say!

There are various ways you can vote in December’s election. If yours, or a loved one's, MS makes it difficult for you to vote in person you may wish to place a postal vote, proxy vote or emergency proxy vote.

Don’t forget – there are some important things you should consider while volunteering on behalf of the MS Society during an election. It’s important not to appear to be influencing the way anyone may vote, when acting as an MS Society volunteer – read more about this here.
