Cost of living crisis - #BreakingPoint campaign

This is a tough time for everyone, but people with MS are being hit especially hard by the cost of living crisis. This has been caused by years of benefits cuts. Government neglect has forced many to make devastating choices between essentials like food, heating and medication.

A survey we ran earlier in the year found that:

  • Over a quarter of people with MS who took part in our survey don’t have enough money for food, with 1 in 20 telling us they’ve had to use a foodbank in the past year.

  • Almost 2 in 5 people with MS who claim means-tested benefits surveyed can’t afford to keep their homes warm. And around a third of this group can’t afford the medication or treatments they need.

  • Around 3 in 10 people with MS surveyed have had to reduce their spending by reducing or stopping therapies or treatments

We'll launch our #BreakingPoint campaign on 28 September to make sure that this issue is at the top of the new Prime Minister’s agenda. Keep an eye out for the launch on our social media and share it widely!
