Training for new Support Volunteers
Welcome to all our new Support Volunteers!
If you’ve recently joined us as a Support Volunteer, or are an existing volunteer who has moved into this role, please ensure that you complete our eLearning course — MS Support Induction. You should have received an email with details of how to access this course. If you need it re-sent, please contact the Volunteer Support Team (0300 500 8084 #3 or [email protected].
Most of our Support Volunteers find the online training simple to complete. But if you’d prefer to do the training face to face, you can join a Zoom session instead. The next one is on Wednesday 23 November.
If you’ve completed the eLearning but are yet to meet Deborah Redman (MS Support Programme Lead) and Barbara Sujecka (Support and Wellbeing Facilitator), please join our Zoom induction session on Tuesday 15 November. Deborah and Barbara would like to welcome you and let you know about the support and opportunities available to you as part of the MS Support team.
Update for existing Support Volunteers
If you’ve been volunteering with us for a while, but haven’t recently attended a Forum or session, join us on Wednesday 7 December. This will be a chance to touch base with the team and see what’s new in MS Support.
Summary of induction and training dates:
Tuesday 15 November 11am – 1pm: Zoom Induction Session to meet Deborah and Barbara, find out more about MS Support and what support we can offer you.
Wednesday 23 November 10am – 4pm: Zoom Training Session for any Support Volunteers preferring to complete their training this way (instead of the eLearning course). There will be lots of breaks away from the screen, plus activities and discussion!
Wednesday 7 December 11am – 1pm: Zoom Refresher Session for Support Volunteers who may have been with us a while, haven’t been to forums or other sessions and would like to touch base and see what is new.

MS Support Volunteer Autumn Forums
MS Support invite all Support Volunteers and Group Coordinators to sign up to an Autumn Forum.
The two-hour Forum will include:
- An update to find out what’s new in MS Support and to shape our plans going forwards.
- An opportunity to find out what our Research Team has been doing.
- Peer Support – a chance for us all to share ideas or tackle challenges.
Dates:
- Tuesday 29 November at 10am
- Wednesday 30 November at 2pm
- Thursday 1 December at 10am
