At the beginning of 2022 we were delighted to launch our new Volunteer Recognition Scheme — including Length of Service recognition and our new Impact Awards (to replace Shining Stars).
Length of Service recognition
We’ve been saying thank you to our volunteers on the key anniversaries of their involvement with the MS Society. We send these messages to your email inbox, based on the information we have on our database about your volunteering record with us.
We’ve received feedback that some of these messages have included incorrect information about the length of time someone has been volunteering with us. If you’ve been affected by this, we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience or upset this may have caused.
We do our utmost to ensure that the volunteer data we hold is accurate. But we know that errors do exist, especially with data created many years ago. We ask staff members who work with volunteers to verify and correct historical data where they can. And you can help by letting us know if you receive a Length of Service thank you message based on incorrect data. Just contact the Volunteer Support Team ([email protected] or call 0300 500 8084 #3) so we can update your records.
We’re committed to correcting any errors in our volunteer data so we can continue to recognise the commitment and dedication you give us and the MS community though volunteering.
Impact Awards
So far, we’ve received an incredible number of nominations for Impact Awards, and recognised over 100 volunteers with badges and certificates. And last October saw our first Impact Awards ceremony, where we discovered who was the overall winner in each of our six award categories.
