Out and about with MS nurses

Each March over 300 MS nurses gather in Leicestershire for their three-day conference run by the MS Trust. Joining our Information Team Editor Richard on the MS Society stand this year was our MS Helpline Officer, Harshil.

Harshil’s mission was to make sure the nurses know about the many services our MS Helpline provides, from its legal, benefits and physical activity advisors to our own three MS nurses. One of these, Liz, was a conference delegate herself, there to catch up on the latest developments in MS.

This conference is the perfect place to promote MS Society services. This year saw the nurses take away a record-breaking 3,900 MS Society information resources and promotional items. High in demand were our booklets, factsheets, exercise DVDs, MS Helpline magnets and the always popular ‘I have MS’ toilet cards.

Several conference sessions dealt with Advanced MS. So our recently updated Advanced Carers handbook flew off our stand. This is one of three family and carers publications that we revised this year. You can find the handbook in our online shop.

If you're in touch with health professionals, you could let them know about our Experts in MS: Professional Network. This will keep them in touch with the latest resources to help them in their work.
