The Awards for All grant programme has already been successfully used by many of our groups. It can help cover the cost of delivering services or Summer/Christmas celebrations.
About Awards for All
Awards for All offers grants of between £300 and £20,000 to be spent within two years. It’s a relatively simple process, doesn’t have a deadline, and applications can be made at any time.
✓ They can fund equipment, one-off events, small capital projects, staff costs, training costs, transport, utilities/running costs or volunteer expenses.
✘ They can’t fund statutory activities, contingency costs, fundraising/profit making activities.
The project or activity doesn’t need to be something new. However, it would need to demonstrate an extension to existing work, perhaps covering more locations or increasing service delivery hours.
Making an application
Hear first-hand from the Amersham and Chesham group about how easy the application can be
“The Amersham and Chesham MS Group would like to thank the Volunteer Support Team for making our Awards for All application so easy. We were given a list of all the information needed, and Molly – our Community Fundraiser - then compiled the application based on our response. The hardest part was providing a budget for the two years. The most rewarding part was the feedback that we received from our members when they were asked to tell us what the group meetings meant to them. Quotes taken from their responses were invaluable in the application, and very moving.
We are delighted to report that we have been awarded our meeting running costs for the next two years. I strongly recommend other groups to make an Awards for All application - good luck!”
Important things to note
The way you apply is very important. Please follow the process outlined in this guidance.
The most important part of the process is applying as an ‘unregistered voluntary organisation’ – NOT as the main MS Society charitable organisation. If you do not apply as an ‘unregistered voluntary organisation’, your application will automatically be unsuccessful.
Support available
Molly, your Community Fundraising support, is happy to help with your application, alongside the Volunteer Support Team. Please get in touch by emailing [email protected] to discuss your ideas and application before you start applying.
