We've been made aware of an opportunity that we're pleased to share with you.
A programme across the King's official residences in London and Windsor offers free visits for community groups and organisations working to support under-reached, disadvantaged and disabled people.
There are two options for in-person visits to Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle or the Palace of Holyroodhouse:
The Complimentary Admission For Registered Charities Policy offers a limited number of tickets available on specific dates. Tickets for these visits must be collected from the site’s Admission Desk on the day of the visit, by a named group leader, and distributed to group members in time for their booked time-slot. These are self-guided visits and groups can make use of any of the interpretation provided free of charge on site.
The Community programme allows groups to request a visit, within a scheduled number of dates and times, as and when they’re released by the Access and Inclusion Manager. These visits may include (depending on the location) a welcome, guided tour or led-workshop, with free tea and coffee. Dates are released by the Access and Inclusion Manager at least two months in advance via an email sent to the Community e-mailing list. Slots are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference going to groups that visit less frequently.
For those who find it difficult to visit galleries and heritage sites, there are monthly Zoom talks on offer — including descriptive talks for those with vision problems.
You can find further details about the in-person and Zoom opportunities here.
