Help shape our new research strategy

Our current research strategy ended at the end of 2024. So we’re now looking to publish a new one to align with the upcoming new MS Society organisational strategy.
But first we need to consult with a range of people affected by MS to ensure that our research strategy meets the needs of our community. And that we’re talking about it in a clear, understandable way.
Our research strategy informs our decisions on which research to fund — by outlining the our priorities, objectives, and approach to improving the understanding, treatment and care of MS. It ensures that funding is directed towards impactful, innovative, and evidence-based projects that align with our mission. Having a research strategy ensures transparency and accountability to donors, researchers, and people affected by MS.
Who can get involved?
Anyone affected by MS is welcome to join this focus group.
What would I need to do?
You’ll join a two-hour online focus group on Friday 31 January, between 10am and noon.
This focus group will be co-facilitated by a member of the MS Society’s Research Team and two lay members of our Research Strategy Committee. You’ll be given an introduction to our thinking so far on the new strategy. You’ll be asked for your feedback and ideas on areas of focus within the strategy, and how we should promote it and communicate the decisions we’ve made.
Later, once the draft strategy's ready, you’ll be able to provide written feedback on it.
How do I sign up to attend?
Just email [email protected] by Friday 24 January.
