Represent our group volunteers to help shape our services

We’re looking for a Group Volunteer to join our services transformation project

If you were able to take part at one our recent community ‘roadshow’ events, you’ll already have heard about Project Mead – our services transformation project.

We’re working hard to develop our local and national services to be more accessible and better connected. We want to make sure that people living with MS, along with their families and carers, have access to the right support when they need it, no matter where they live in the UK.

The project is led and advised by a Steering Group that includes MS Society senior leaders, staff members and representatives from our community who live with or care for someone living with MS. We're starting to think seriously about how we can improve community services to better support local volunteers and deliver the experience that people who use our services are asking for. And we want to make sure MS Society groups are properly represented on the Steering Group too.

If you have experience helping to manage one of our local groups, and run services in your area, we want to hear from you.

As a local group representative on our Steering Group, you’ll get to:

  • Share your personal experiences of MS

  • Represent the voice of others in our community of MS Society groups

  • Use your skills and knowledge to help us make decisions that will improve services for everyone

Who can take part?

  • Volunteers who are part of an MS Society local group

  • Living anywhere in the UK

How much time will it take?

  • Our Steering Group meets monthly, usually on a Tuesday afternoon. Meetings usually last 2 hours and take place over Zoom

  • You’ll also need time to prepare for meetings by reviewing any documents and be prepared to give feedback

How can I get involved?

First, take a look at the detailed role description.

Then, if you’d like to express interest in joining the Project Mead Steering Group, please complete the online form.

Timeline:

Expressions of interest will remain open until 23:59 on Monday 21 April.

We’re aiming to hold informal interviews on 24-25 April, and inductions the week commencing 28 April, but this may be subject to change.
