How to get involved in MS Awareness Week

MS Awareness Week is coming up soon. From 20 – 26 April, we’ll be teaming up with our friends at MS Together, MS Trust, MS-UK, Overcoming MS, Neuro Therapy Networks, Shift.ms and Talks with MS to launch a brand new campaign, MS Think Again.

Lots of people think they know what MS is, but you told us that the condition is often misunderstood. MS Think Again is all about challenging MS assumptions, misconceptions and negative judgements, and the harm these cause - from being underestimated at work to being harassed for using an accessible parking space.

Together with the other charities, we sent a survey to people with MS across the country to find out more about these issues. Over 1,600 of you responded, and you told us all about the attitudes and judgements you’ve encountered in all areas of your life - from colleagues, benefits assessors, healthcare professionals, and even friends and family.

From Monday 20 April, we’ll be sharing those findings, along with real people’s stories and resources. Keep a look out!

Our message to the public is clear. Listen, learn, and understand MS before saying something that could hurt or offend. Think you know MS? #MSThinkAgain.

MS Awareness Week is a major opportunity in the year to speak out and raise awareness about MS - and we hope it will be bigger and better than ever before. But we need your help.
