Me and My Mug - Simeon Corfield

Hi! My name’s Simeon Corfield and I’ve been a Shop Volunteer in the Altrincham shop for about nine months.

What’s the story of your mug?

I bought it during a day out in Marlow, Oxfordshire as I wanted to support a local artist.

What’s your go-to hot beverage?

Always Tea!

Where do you usually volunteer?

I volunteer in the Altrincham shop. Before that I used to volunteer for a Hospice charity in Canterbury after I finished work as a Headteacher/University lecturer.

What does a typical day look like for you whilst volunteering?

In the few hours I'm there, I tend to try and tidy the store displays, add pricing for items and generally serve customers!

What projects or events are you most excited about right now?

It's great to see the change of season to Summer wear!

What’s the most rewarding part of your volunteering?

Meeting and chatting with the wide range of people who come into the store.

When you’re not volunteering, what are you most likely to be doing?

Walking the lovely Bailey (17yr old Yorkie) and probably watching TV, reading and eating!

Describe yourself in three words:

Sociable, confident, jovial.

What TV series has you hooked at the moment?

Rivals (I'm ashamed to say!)

What are you proud of?

I'm proud of working out my priorities and thinking about where to be , and what I enjoy! Oh and my amazing adult children!

What's the best advice anyone's ever given you?

Be who you are and do what you enjoy!

Any shout outs or thank yous you'd like to share?

To Joe, for being the best boyfriend in the world!

Thanks to Simeon for chatting to us!
