Starting group social activities and meetings

  • Socials and meetings in managed venues
  • Socials and meetings outdoors
  • Events run by a professional organisation (such as a canal boat trip)
  • Coach trips
  • One off hotel stays
  • Meetings in private homes
  • Socials and meetings in unmanaged venues (where no suitable managed venue is available)
  • Group parties or socials with third party involvement (entertainers)

To start a new social activity or meeting, please follow these six steps:

  • Choose the appropriate guidance or risk assessment document from those listed below
  • Complete the guidance or risk assessment document
  • Upload the completed guidance or risk assessment document to the Portal and update the service entry
  • Email the Volunteer Support Team, to confirm the guidance or risk assessment document has been uploaded
  • Receive a confirmation email from the Volunteer Support Team
  • You can now start the activity or meeting
