Changes to our Executive Team

As recently communicated, we’re pleased to have our new Strategy for 2020-24 agreed.

Our ambitions are high and we have some really exciting plans that will make a difference to the lives of people affected by MS.

To deliver these plans effectively we need to make sure we have the right people and the right structure in place. This applies to the whole organisation, including our leadership.

What does that mean?

With that in mind, we’ve thought very carefully about the efficiency and cost effectiveness of our leadership, and had to make some very difficult decisions affecting our Executive Team.

We currently have six ‘directorates’, each one led by an Executive Director, which all of our departments and teams sit underneath. From January 2020, we will be simplifying this, so instead of six directorates, we’ll have four:

  • Digital and Services, led by Ed Holloway
  • Income and Engagement, led by Emma Whitcombe
  • Corporate Services, led by Vicky Annis
  • Research and External Affairs, led by Susan Kohlhass

This means that sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to our Executive Director of People – David Prince, and our Executive Director of External Affairs – Gen Edwards. Both David and Gen have made incredible contributions to the MS community and have always shown passion and commitment.

How does this affect me?

On a day-to-day basis, this shouldn’t mean big changes for volunteers on the ground.

The Volunteering Team will be moving over to the Digital and Services Directorate, which is where the Local Network teams and most volunteers are currently positioned. We hope this move will improve decision making, process and efficiency.

The Volunteering Team will continue to drive the strategy for all of our wonderful volunteers.

You should continue to contact the Supporter Care team for help or advice, or have a chat to your Local Network Officer.
