Volunteers’ Week 2025 – celebrating YOU!

It was Volunteers’ Week 2-8 June, so we seized the opportunity to thank you for your dedication to our cause. We’re grateful for everything you do to support the MS community.

Thank you

We hope many of you saw the message from our CEO, Nick, in our previous Volunteer Newsletter. And if you haven’t already seen our Ambassadors and staff saying a big ‘thank you’ and shouting out some of your achievements in our Volunteers’ Week video, you can watch it here.

Social media shout outs

We shared our Ambassador video on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. It had 576 total engagements (likes, comments, shares, or clicks) and 11,438 impressions (amount of times it was shown to a user).

Our video from Group Coordinator of our Sheffield and Rotherham Group Joanna Mason had 485 engagements and 8,771 impressions across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.

We also shared a blog from volunteer Tracy across our channels. Tracy told us about how she’s helping to remove barriers for people living with MS through volunteering with us. It had 433 engagements and 12,233 impressions on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

We were delighted to see you shouting out your members and volunteers on your group social media pages.

Watch our Lunch and Learn event

During the week, we put on a staff event to spread the word about some of the incredible support our groups are offering. We heard from Asian MS and Mutual Support, as well as one of our Wellbeing Facilitators. They told us about the services they offer nationally and how they’re helping people live well with MS.

You can watch the recording of the event here.

Spreading the word about our national support groups

Asian MS supports people affected by MS whose heritage originates from South Asia. Find out more here.

Please share Asian MS’s leaflet on your group’s social media channels and in your newsletters so they can reach more people. If you’d like to speak to the group or pass their contact details on to someone in your area, their email address is [email protected].

Mutual Support is run by people affected by MS who have experience of the Armed Forces. They can help provide information on things like war pensions, the Armed Forces Compensation scheme and other benefits. Find out more here.

If someone you know would benefit from connecting with this group, they can be reached at [email protected].

That’s not all!

We hope some of you spotted the posters in our MS Society shops and the Volunteers’ Week banner on the MS Society website.

We had a thank you banner added to all volunteer-facing staff teams celebrating Volunteers’ Week. Our Volunteer Support Officers (VSOs) also sent personalised thank yous to their groups.

And look out for another shout out in the summer edition of 'MS Matters'.

How did we do?

We strive to make all our volunteers feel valued and appreciated year-round, but we hope you enjoyed receiving some special thanks throughout Volunteers’ Week.

If you have any feedback on anything relating to Volunteers’ Week, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at [email protected].
