What we do

What is a carer?

A carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage without their help.

71% of people with MS get unpaid care, support or assistance from a friend or family member. We must ensure that those providing this care are properly supported (source – MS Society Stop the MS Lottery report)

What we do

"Carers say that access to information, financial support and breaks in caring are vital in helping them manage the impact of caring on their lives." - (Source - Carers Trust)

We support families and carers of people with MS, assisting them to live well and to be better informed so that they and the people they support may exercise choice and control and maintain their independence.

We support families and carers by:

  • Giving information
  • Offering emotional, practical and financial support
  • Signposting to other organisations
