Barclays.net is the online banking system we use which allows you to make online payments and see your group bank balance. A number of volunteers have commented on the level of charges for setting up Barclays.net on their machines; £25 for a card reader and £20 for a smartcard.
The charges are high and we have complained to Barclays about this. However, we still believe that the Barclays cash pooling scheme is better value than what other banks are offering, and we do undertake independent reviews to ensure this is the case. The cash pooling scheme allows the organisation to manage its cash more effectively and as a result generate a significant investment return.
