Launch of the Volunteer Support Team

Our Volunteer Support Team have been working hard to get up and running, and their first day supporting you will be this coming Monday, 16 November.

You can contact them on [email protected] or via the existing Supporter Care phone number – 0300 500 8084, option #3. Their working hours will be 9-7 Monday to Friday (closed on bank holidays and over the festive period).

The Volunteer Support Team should now be the first point of contact for any day-to-day needs you might have, such as:

Requests to add/update volunteer or group information on our central database
Guidance on finance, grants, health & safety, data protection
Technical support on systems (Portal, MS Society email accounts, MS Society Designs etc)
Advice on volunteer recruitment, including dedicated help with the recruitment of Group Coordinators
Support with group services and activities, and SLAs

On Monday 16 November, each Group Coordinator will receive an email from the Volunteer Support Officer who will be the named contact for their group, giving details of the more complex issues they will be able to help with.

How can I find out more?

We’re running a series of ‘Volunteer Network Events’ (see details below) in late November/early December, where you can meet your group’s named contact (and other key members of the new teams) to hear how support from the new team will work, and to ask any questions. There will also (for those who are interested) be an opportunity to discuss the challenges around restarting face-to-face group activity, and to swap ideas for online alternatives with other volunteers.

We do encourage you to sign up for one of these events if you can. We want to reassure you that we’re committed to maintaining excellent relationships with our volunteers, and providing top-quality support to enable our groups to thrive and grow.

How do I join a Volunteer Network Event?

GEOGRAPHICAL EVENTS:

There are six events (Meetings 1-6) organised by geography, where you can meet the named Volunteer Support Officer for your group.

To find the event for your group, and register to attend, please click here to see the list.

You don't have to join the session for your group, though. You’re welcome to attend any other session instead, if that’s more convenient. If you’re a non-group volunteer, please also feel free to attend any session you like.
