Our shared commitments

Investing in Volunteers (IiV) - We did it!

We’re thrilled to announce that our Volunteering Programme has achieved the prestigious Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation!

Running a group

Our volunteer-led groups are one of our major strengths.

We bring people affected by MS together locally, supporting them to be physically active, have access to information and support, and feel part of a community.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding means making sure that adults with care and support needs, and children and young people under the age of 18, in contact with the MS Society, are protected from abuse.

What should we offer?

Understanding local need

Tell us what your doctor is saying about cannabis

On 1 November 2018, cannabis for medicinal use was legalised.

This is an important milestone for people with MS, and over a thousand of our supporters made it happen, by calling on the Government for change.

But, while the change in law means specialists can now prescribe cannabis for medicinal use, we’re concerned that the temporary guidance will discourage specialists from prescribing it at all.

Recognising our volunteers

This year we’ll be reviewing the ways we celebrate the difference our volunteers make within the MS community.
