Welcome to Assemble

Assemble, our new volunteer management system (VMS), is launching next year. It will simplify processes, give you control of your personal data and provide a central source of information. It will also replace the Portal and Volunteer Website, both of which have now reached end of life.
This page will have all the latest news and support available to get you started on Assemble, including 'how to' videos and guides. You can access these in the support section below and we'll add more resources as we start using the system.
What will I use it for?
We’ve pulled together a short video to introduce the system, giving you a sneak peek of what it’ll do. You can watch it here.
As a volunteer, you’ll be able to:
- Update your contact details and see which email address we have stored for you
- See your volunteer role(s) and the start date(s) we have on record
- Sign up for staff-led events and drop-ins relevant to your role
- Find organisational news and the information you need to carry out your role
Depending on your volunteering role, you’ll also be able to:
- View and update certain details of others if you manage or supervise other volunteers, such as Group Coordinators
- Use the platform for recruitment
- Upload information regarding the events and services run by the group. These will pull through to our ‘Near Me’ pages on the website
The system will also be able to log phone calls and emails to help staff keep on top of the conversations they have with you.
We’ll be testing the usefulness of other system features with volunteers over the coming months to decide whether to use them.
Why now?
We’re undertaking a major transformation project to overhaul how we use data and systems at the MS Society, called Project Sage. Over the last few years, we’ve heard from volunteers that we ask them to use too many systems, and that the processes involved are not clear. The platform that our Portal and volunteer website sat on has reached end of life, so we’ve used the opportunity provided by Project Sage to bring these key functions together into one system. Assemble will replace them both.
Support available
We understand using a new system may be daunting, but we’ll have lots of support in place. And we’ will be there to assist you every step of the way.
We’ll be hosting drop-in sessions, have lots of ‘how to’ videos and guides, and our Volunteer Support Team will be on hand. We’ll be sharing more on the support available in due course but you can check out a few of our videos below to get you started.
